On September 4, 2026, at about 1:40 P.M., a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in a private driveway on Waimano Home Road in the Pearl City area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 45-year-old female motorist was traveling northbound on Waimano Home Road when she executed a left turn into a private driveway and collided with a 30-year-old female motorist who was attempting to exit the private driveway.

As a result of the collision, the 45-year-old female motorist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 30-year-old female motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision. 

At this time, speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
