On June 30, 2026, at about 6:27 A.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving an E-Motorcycle occurred on Waialae Avenue in the Kaimuki area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 67-year-old male motorist was traveling eastbound on Waialae Avenue when it executed a left turn into the driveway of 3254 Waialae Avenue and was broadsided by a 33-year-old male E-motorcyclist, who was traveling westbound on Waialae Avenue in the center lane.
As a result of the collision, the 33-year-old male E-motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 33-year-old male E-motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 67-year-old male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, speed or alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs are a contributing factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
