On February 26, 2026, at about 10:15 P.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving an E-motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Naval Road in the Nanakuli area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 15-year-old male E-motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway while executing a “wheelie” when it broadsided a 49-year-old male motorist, as it executed a left turn onto Lualualei Naval Road from Farrington Highway, eastbound.
As a result of the collision, the 15-year-old male E-motorcyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 15-year-old male E-motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 49-year-old male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
