On February 15, 2025, at about 3:10 AM, a critical motor vehicle collision, involving a single moped, occurred on Keeaumoku Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 29-year-old female moped operator was traveling southbound on Keeaumoku Street near Liona Street, when for unknown reasons, the 29-year-old female moped operator traveled to the right of the roadway onto the sidewalk, and struck a hollow-tile cement wall.
As a result of the collision, the 29-year-old female moped operator was ejected onto the sidewalk area and transported to an area hospital in critical condition where she was later listed in serious condition.
The 29-year-old female moped operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time speed, alcohol, or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
