On February 11, 2025, at about 11:10 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision, involving a single moped, occurred on Alder Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 38-year-old male moped operator was traveling southbound on Alder Street near Rycroft Street when for unknown reasons, the 38-year-old male moped operator began to slowdown and the moped fell over on it’s side ejecting the 38-year-old male moped operator onto the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the 38-year-old male moped operator was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 38-year-old male moped operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time speed, alcohol, or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
