On February 11, 2026, at about 9:45 P.M., a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on North Nimitz Highway, in the Airport area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 32-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on North Nimitz Highway at a high rate of speed near Main Street when it rear ended a 28-year-old male motorist.
As a result of the collision, the 32-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 28-year-old male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
The 32-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
