On January 11, 2026, at about 12:10 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on Pali Highway in the Kaneohe area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 24-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Pali Highway at a high rate of speed, when he lost control and struck a concrete guardrail.
As a result of the collision, the 24-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 24-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
