On December 20, 2025, at about 3:55 P.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on Waianae Valley Road in the Waianae area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 49-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Waianae Valley Road at a high rate of speed, when he lost control and was ejected onto the roadway.

As a result of the collision, the 49-year-old male motorcyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.

The 49-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors.

The investigation is ongoing.
