On March 27, 2021, at about 0904 hours, a motor vehicle collision occurred at the H1 Freeway Westbound before the Ward Avenue overpass, involving two vehicles and a motorcycle. A motorcycle operated by a 21-year-old male was traveling on the H1 westbound in the number three lane. The motorcycle rear-ended a Toyota driven by a 23-year-old female that was stopped in traffic. The motorcycle operator then collided with a Chrysler driven by a 31-year-old female in the number 4 lane also stopped in traffic. The operators of the Toyota and the Chrysler were not injured and remained at the scene. The male operator of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The male was transported to an area hospital in critical condition with head injuries. Speed was not a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol and drugs are contributing factors to this collision. This investigation is on-going.
