On Saturday, September 5, 2020, at about 0749 hours, a motor vehicle collision occurred fronting 758 Sunset Avenue, involving a vehicle and a moped.

A Ford vehicle operated by a 48-year-old male was traveling Northeast on Sunset Avenue when for an unknown reason, a Moped operated by an unknown male traveling Northwest turned into his path of travel.

The operator of the Ford vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.

The unknown male operator of the moped was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from his moped. The male operator was transported to an area hospital in critical condition with injuries to his head area.

Speed possibly was a factor on the part of the moped operator. It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in this collision.

This investigation is on-going.
