On March 1, 2026, at about 1:15 A.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on South King Street in the McCully area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on South King Street when it struck a male pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, that was crossing South King Street, utilizing a skateboard, outside of a marked crosswalk. The unidentified motorist continued traveling eastbound on South King Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol is a contributing factor of this collision
