On December 23, 2025, at about 5:10 A.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Farrington Highway in the Nanakuli area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway, and struck a 33-year-old male pedestrian who was walking partially in the roadway. The unidentified motorist continued traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 33-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor.
