On September 19, 2026, at about 11:40 A.M., a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Lualualei Homestead Road in the Waianae area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 28-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Lualualei Homestead Road when an unidentified motorist traveling southbound on Moekahi Street, entered the intersection of Lualualei Homestead Road into the path of the 28-year-old male motorcyclist.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, the 28-year-old male motorcyclist traveled into the eastbound lane of Lualualei Homestead Road and continued onto the concrete sidewalk, where he subsequently collided into a wooden fence. The unidentified motorist continued traveling southbound on Moekahi Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.

As a result of the collision, the 28-year-old male motorcyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.

The 28-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol are a contributing factor of this collision.
