On February 12, 2026, at about 9:16 P.M., a serious motor vehicle collision involving an unknown vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on Kanoa Street in the Kalihi area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unknown motorist was traveling westbound on Kanoa Street near Banyan Street with a male pedestrian hanging onto the front passenger side door of the unknown vehicle, when the male pedestrian fell from the unknown vehicle onto the roadway. The unknown motorist continued traveling westbound on Kanoa Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
The motorist remains unknown at this time.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor in this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
