On September 8, 2025, at about 11:40 PM, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Kawaihao Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Kawaihao Street near the intersection of Kamani Street, when it stuck a 60-year-old male pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. After the collision the unknown vehicle continued traveling westbound on Kawaihao Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 60-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs are factors in this collision.
