On September 1, 2025, at about 2:36 AM, a fatal motor vehicle collision involving an electric motorcycle occurred in the Ewa Beach area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 23-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Kuhina Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and collided into a parked and unattended vehicle on the unimproved eastbound sidewalk area. After the initial collision, the 23-year-old male motorcyclist continued traveling westbound, ejecting the 23-year-old male motorcyclist onto roadway.
As a result of the collision, the 23-year-old male motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 23-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor.
This is the 57th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year compared to 28 at the same time in 2024.
