On August 22, 2025, at about 5:00 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision involving two motorcycles occurred on Farrington Highway, west of Makua Valley Road, in the Makaha area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 32-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway when he was rear-ended by a 34-year-old male motorcyclist.
As a result of the collision, the 34-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and subsequently transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 34-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 32-year-old male motorcyclist refused treatment at the scene.
At this time speed, alcohol, or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
