Payments are made directly to the officer by the requestor; the requestor is also responsible for any tax liabilities.

PREMIUM RATES ARE THE VENDORS’ OPTION TO USE TO ENCOURAGE STAFFING UNLESS THE REQUEST IS SUBMITTED LESS THAN 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE JOB. INDEPENDENTLY, FOR LARGE EVENTS INVOLVING 10 OR MORE OFFICERS OR >900 ATTENDEES, REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT. IF THE RESPECTIVE SUBMISSION DEADLINES ARE NOT MET, THE PREMIUM RATES WILL BE MANDATORY TO SUBMIT THE ORDER.

The Special Duty Section will not provide requestors with the social security numbers and home address of officers.

Additional Charges

Subsidized Vehicle: Payable directly to officer$10.00
Solo Motorcycle: Payable directly to the C & C of Honolulu$10.00
Bicycle: Payable directly to the C & C of Honolulu. Travel time surcharge paid directly to officer$10.00
Administrative Fee: 1st officer hired$14.00
Administrative Fee: For each additional officer per job assignment$2.00
Insurance Fee: Per officer. Payable directly to the C & C of Honolulu.$5.00

Private/Subsidized Vehicle Mileage-A mileage charge of $0.655 per mile (based on the current city rate). When applicable, officers on escorts are paid mileage from the initial job site. Mileage will continue until returning to the initial job site or going home, whichever distance is shorter. Officers working non-escorts jobs are eligible for mileage fees when their required driving exceeds 20 miles driven under the same guidelines.

City vehicle mileage will be paid from the storage pointto the job site and back to the storage point.

IF A CITY VEHICLE IS UTILIZED – MILEAGE IS PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE CITY & COUNTY OF HONOLULU

IF A PRIVATELY OWNED (SUBSIDIZED) VEHICLE IS UTILIZED – MILEAGE IS PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICER

CANCELLATION FEE: Minimum charge equivalent to 2 hours is assessed for each officer assigned if the job is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice prior to start of job.

W-9 Form (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification)

It is the responsibility of the requestor/vendor to have the officer complete a W-9 form on site.
