The Law Enforcement Explorers Program provides young adults who may be interested in a career in law enforcement with a comprehensive program of training and mentorship. Program advisors will work to develop explorers in 3 main focuses:
Career Development – Explorers are introduced to many different career opportunities both in the Honolulu Police Department and in their communities. Through Police Division tours explorers will see the different professionals who make the department function. While performing service projects in the community they will have the opportunity to connect to other citizens in various career fields as well.
Character Developing -Life skills like Resilience / Mental toughness, Self Confidence / Personal Initiative, Discipline / Accountability and Leadership / Mentorship are some of the many traits Explorers will develop and practice throughout the activities in our program.
Social Development – While participating in the many training and community events Explorers will have the opportunity to build their communication skills with empathetic and effective methods. They will interact with the community and their fellow explorers. They will learn how to network and learn the social skills to prosper in todays world.
