The District 7 Community Policing Team is dedicated in building partnerships with community members to identify specific concerns within their communities. The District 7 Community Policing Team strives to work with community members to find effective solutions to their concerns.

The District 7 CPT conducted outreach to our homeless population to inform them of the HONU project. The HONU project is a great tool to navigate them into permanent shelter.

The District 7 CPT was invited to speak to the KCC Tourism Class about crime prevention. Crime Prevention should always be in play while out and about.

Mahalo to Moili'ili Honwanji for inviting the District 7 CPT to speak about crime prevention. There were many questions and very good suggestions from the audience. Mahalo to Lily for the awesome snacks!

The District 7 CPT with the Solo Bike Detail presented a Say Hi presentation to the children at Hawaii Kai Learning Center. The students were so excited in getting to sit on a real police motorcycle and to meet all the officers.

The HONU Project is a new way that the City of Honolulu in collaboration with HPD will be resolving homeless issues in the community. This program will hopefully get people off of our streets and into shelter with a more involved approach.

The District 7 CPT was introduced to the HOME Project a homeless outreach and medical service program. The HOME project consists of trained medical professionals that offer aid to the homeless or anyone that needs medical advice. From colds to minor sores the HOME project is there to help. Meet them every last Thursday of the month, 9am-12pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Mahalo to our Farmer Hawaii Friends who hosted a Community Traffic Awareness Program fronting Wilson Elementary. A big THANKS to the student council, teachers, school staff and Farmers Hawaii for helping us educate the community about safe driving!

Mahalo to the 4th graders of Palolo Elementary for inviting the District 7 CPT for lunch and conversation. The children had many questions about our job as officers.

Mahalo to Wilson Elementary for inviting the District 7 CPT, Solo Bike Unit and DARE program for their annual Career Day. There were many other occupations their to share their job descriptions and it was a very interesting event. Thank you to all of the staff members with hosting a great potluck lunch.

Mahalo to the Hawaii Kai Lions for inviting the District 7 CPT in presenting a Crime Prevention Presentation. Many questions were asked and the Lions appreciated our information about awareness. Thank you to all of the Lions for a great night of food and conversation.

The District 7 CPT presented a Say Hi Presentation and a Keiki ID event at the Kapiolani Community College Preschool. The children had a fun time with the officers. Mahalo to the KCC Preschool for the ono snacks and thank you poster.

Mahalo to Randy head of the Palolo Neighborhood Board for inviting the District 7 CPT in presenting a Neighborhood Security Watch presentation. Many questions were asked by the board. If you are interested in a NSW please call 723-3352.

Mahalo to the Iolani Kindergarten Class and to the teachers for inviting HPD officers to their school. The K-9 unit did a great demo and the District 7 CPT presented a Say Hi presentation to the students. Mahalo for the ono snacks!

Mahalo to the Students at Palolo Elementary for inviting HPD Officers to talk about their job. The students were fascinated with the Solo Bike Unit and excited to see the K-9 Unit as well. Many questions were brought up by the students to the D7 CPT Officers.

The staff at Kaimuki Middle hosted a Parent Night and the theme was Cyber Safety. Crime Specialist Angela from the AG's Office spoke about safety and tips on how juveniles should be using the internet. D7 CPT answered questions about bullying and reporting those crimes. Mahalo Voyagers!

Mahalo to our Starbucks Partners at the Aina Haina Store for co-hosting a Coffee With A Cop event! Many community members stopped in to talk story and to say Thank You to the officers for their public service. Great Job by Corporal Ho-Ching, Sgt. Yi and Officer Shimabuku for stopping by and meeting the community!

The District 7 CPT and District 7 Burg. & Theft Detail presented crime prevention tips for the management staff at Kahala Mall and for their stores. This was a very informative meeting for both businesses and officers. Mahalo to Theresa and Jessie for being great hosts!

McKinley High School honored Officer Kalama by inducting him into their Hall of Honor. In true Tiger form K.K. exemplified their school mission, which is to be a Caring, Contributing and Productive Citizen. Mahalo Nui Loa Officer Kalama for your service and sacrifice!

Safe Driving should be practiced by everyone. Thank you to the Hawaii Kai Lions, Kamiloiki Students and Staff for helping us educate the community to be more aware when driving.

Mahalo to Kuliouou Kai Villas for inventing the District 7 CPT in presenting about Neighborhood Security Watch. The board was intrigued with the presentation and will consider this method of crime prevention for their community.

Thank you to the senior residents of Manoa Gardens in your interest in creating an NSW. The NSW program is a great way to prevent crime and an excellent means in meeting your neighbors.

With a heavy heart many people gathered at Sandy Beach a favorite spot of fallen Officer Kalama to celebrate his life. Mahalo K. K. for your ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting all of us!

Students at Star of the Sea got to view a real patrol car, view a K-9 unit demo and a Say Hi presentation. The students and staff enjoyed every part of the presentation.

The children of Kuapa Preschool had a very exciting day as the K-9 unit did an awesome demonstration and the District 7 CPT provided Keiki ID cards for the children.
