HONOLULU – The ongoing investigation revealed that the two earlier incidents are connected.
On November 1, at approximately 2:15 a.m., District 5 officers responded to reports of gunfire and a stabbing at Mayor Wright Homes in Kalihi.
Two male victims, ages 13 and 27, were walking into the area when multiple shots were fired. The 13-year-old was shot in the ankles, and the 27-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
A third victim, a 25-year-old male security guard, was standing nearby and witnessed the shooting. Moments later, a second suspect approached and stabbed the security guard in the shoulder. The suspect, a 31-year-old male, fled on foot but was located nearby by District 5 Crime Reduction Unit officers and arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
The shooting suspect, described only as an unknown male, remains outstanding. All three victims were treated and transported to the area hospital.
