On May 30, 2026, District 4 Patrol officers responded to an assault investigation at Waialee Beach, commonly known as “Dead Man’s Curve.”
The Honolulu Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division Strategic Enforcement Detail (SED) detectives continued the investigation and determined that a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were assaulted by multiple individuals, resulting in significant injuries.
Detectives also learned the victims were allegedly restrained and prevented from leaving during the assault, resulting in kidnapping offenses being added to the case.
On June 2, 2026, District 4 and District 8 Crime Reduction Unit officers assisted in the identification and arrest of three juvenile suspects for Kidnapping and Assault offenses.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are anticipated. Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
