On June 14, 2026, District 1 patrol officers responded to two separate shooting incidents in the Ala Moana area.

At this time, it does not appear that the incident near Ke‘eaumoku Street and Kapi‘olani Boulevard is related to the shooting incident that occurred at a business on Hopaka Street.

Detectives from the Homicide and Strategic Enforcement Detail are actively investigating both cases by reviewing surveillance footage, obtaining numerous witness statements, and recovering evidence.

Regarding the Hopaka Street incident, a 24-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Following the investigation, a 28-year-old male was identified and arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, and Firearm Offenses.

Regarding the Ke‘eaumoku Street and Kapi‘olani Boulevard incident, a 23-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound and remains at the hospital.
