Honolulu Police Department District 4 patrol officers initiated an Attempted Murder in the Second Degree case following an incident in the area of a church in Kahalu‘u.
On September 17, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., a 38-year-old male reported that following an earlier argument, a 45-year-old male suspect pointed a black rifle at him and fired in his direction but missed.
The suspect fled the area on foot. District 4 Crime Reduction Unit officers conducted checks of the surrounding area and located the suspect near Kamehameha Highway and Lihikai Drive. The suspect was arrested without incident for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
The investigation is ongoing.
