Last week, officers from District 8, Traffic, and the Specialized Services Division attended a Say Hi event at Friendship Christian School. We visited ages preschool to 2nd grade. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with young community members. Say Hi events often feature static displays, showcasing police equipment like patrol cars and even the K9 unit. Presentations on the day-to-day life of a police officer emphasize that officers are friends and a safety resource. Topics like “stranger danger” and general safety are also covered.
