On September 2, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) executed a search warrant on an illegal game room on University Avenue.
HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division Gambling Detail with assistance from the District 7 Crime Reduction Unit, Forfeiture Detail, Airport Operations Group, Specialized Services Division, and Emergency Medical Services, recovered a total of 10 gaming machines, more than $3,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia, which were all submitted into evidence.
During the course of the investigation, a 36-year-old male was arrested for Promoting Gambling in the Second Degree and Possession of a Gambling Device.
“The progress we have made against illegal game rooms across Oahu reflects the hard work and dedication of our officers,” said Maj. Jerome Pacarro head of HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division. “They continue to apply pressure through short-term enforcement while building long-term investigations targeting those who organize and profit from these operations. I’m extremely proud of their continued commitment and effort.”
