On May 21, 2025, a video of an assault in the Wahiawā area circulated widely on social media. The incident, which occurred on April 17, 2025, involved a 21-year-old female victim who was assaulted by multiple suspects.
District 2 officers became aware of the video, and several juveniles and an adult female were initially arrested for various misdemeanor offenses. The Criminal Investigation Division’s Robbery Detail subsequently reviewed the case and determined that there were elements to substantiate a felony investigation.
Through extensive investigation, detectives learned that the victim had been repeatedly victimized by the suspects dating back to February 2025. Working in coordination with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, criminal charges were brought against two adults and six juveniles.
The charges include kidnapping, robbery in the second degree, assault in the third degree, extortion in the third degree, theft in the second degree, theft in the fourth degree, and criminal property damage in the fourth degree.
As a result, an Oʻahu grand jury indicted an adult female for kidnapping, assault in the third degree, and multiple counts of theft in the fourth degree. Her mother was charged with attempted theft in the second degree, extortion in the third degree, and attempted theft in the fourth degree. Juvenile suspects involved in this case may be subject to proceedings in Family Court.
The female victim is reported to be in good condition.
