“Assistant Chiefs Beckley and Hernandez bring valuable experience, strong leadership and a shared commitment to moving our department forward,” said Chief Lazar. “Their appointments reflect our continued focus on strengthening public safety operations while embracing new ideas and opportunities to improve how we serve our community.”
Beckley, who previously served as acting assistant chief of the Regional Patrol Bureau, has been with HPD since 1992. Throughout her career, she has held numerous leadership positions, gaining extensive experience in patrol operations and department administration.
As assistant chief, Beckley will oversee patrol operations in districts 2, 3, 4 and 8. She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1990 to 2014.
