Yesterday, Honolulu Police Department personnel, both civilian and sworn, from the Scientific Investigation Section, Traffic Division, and District 8, in partnership with Weed and Seed Hawaiʻi, attended the ʻEwa Makai Middle School Career Day. 👮♂️👮♀️ Students were treated to a day with professionals from other first responder agencies and more. 🚓🚒🚑
Our personnel took the time to give students an up-close look at the tools used on the job, from Solo Bike officers providing a hands-on demonstration with a laser speed enforcement device, to Evidence Specialists providing a hands-on fingerprint activity 🔍, to District 8 officers leading an interactive crime scene memory game🕵️. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about different career paths, and interact directly with those who serve the community. 🤝
Mahalo to ʻEwa Makai Middle for welcoming us. 🌺 Opportunities like this allow us to connect with our keiki, strengthen relationships within the community, and encourage them to grow into positive contributors in the future. We are grateful for the chance to be part of moments like this.
