HONOLULU — The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) held a swearing-in ceremony on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, for Deputy Chief of Field Operations Brandon Nakasato and Deputy Chief of Administrative Operations Parker Bode, formally recognizing their appointments to the department’s executive leadership team.
Honolulu Police Chief David Lazar selected Nakasato and Bode as HPD’s permanent deputy chiefs on Aug. 31, 2026. Both have since assumed their roles, working alongside Chief Lazar to lead the department and advance its strategic priorities.
Nakasato has nearly 27 years of law enforcement experience, having served in various patrol, investigative and administrative assignments. Bode joined HPD in 2010 and has 16 years of service, with extensive experience in administrative and leadership roles. He is also one of the youngest deputy chiefs in HPD history.
“Deputy Chiefs Nakasato and Bode bring valuable experience, proven leadership and a shared commitment to serving our department and community,” said Chief Lazar. “Together, we will continue strengthening our operations, supporting our officers and building public trust.”
The ceremony marked an important milestone for both deputy chiefs as they continue their service to HPD and the people of Oʻahu.
