HONOLULU – The Honolulu Police Department is continuing its efforts to curb traffic injuries and fatalities during the holiday season by deploying impaired driver checkpoints from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2025.
Officers will set up the checkpoints at unannounced times and locations throughout the city and county of Honolulu as part of ongoing efforts to make roadways safer during a period that often sees an increase in impaired driving incidents.
The department reminds the public that the legal drinking age is 21. Promoting intoxicating liquor to a person under the age of 21 is a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to one year in prison.
