On April 8, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., District 1 patrol officers responded to a domestic-related incident on Lusitana Street.

A 39-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son were assaulted during an argument with a male suspect known to the victim. The incident escalated into a violent attack, resulting in injuries to both victims.

Officers in the area were flagged down and quickly responded. The suspect was located and arrested at the scene.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The 44-year-old male was arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree, and Assault in the Second Degree.

Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
