On October 6, 2026, at approximately 4:53 a.m., District 8 patrol officers were notified that a 31-year-old male had been taken to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.
The investigation determined that the victim and a 33-year-old male were involved in an altercation on Papipi Road in ʻEwa Beach. The suspect reportedly threatened to kill the victim before shooting him once in the chest and fleeing.
A weapon was recovered and identified as a compressed-air pellet rifle.
On October 8, 2026, at approximately 1:26 p.m., with assistance from the Special Events Division and the District 8 Crime Reduction Unit, the suspect surrendered and was arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
Charges are pending. No additional information will be released at this time.
