On March 30, 2026, at approximately 2:38 p.m., officers responded to an incident in the Chinatown area where a 95-year-old male was physically assaulted and knocked to the ground.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died on April 7, 2026.
The Homicide Detail was assigned to further investigate the case, and it was reclassified as Manslaughter.
During the course of the investigation, a 52-year-old male was identified as the suspect.
Today, April 16, 2026, just after 10:00 p.m., District 5 Crime Reduction Unit officers located and arrested the suspect.
