On August 20, 2026, the Honolulu Police Department opened an unattended death investigation in Waikīkī involving 50-year-old Jenny Lupton.

The HPD Homicide Detail is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and is working closely with her family. At this time, no conclusions have been made regarding the manner of death.

This is a thorough investigation that will take time. Detectives are conducting numerous interviews, reviewing and recovering surveillance video, and examining evidence as part of the investigative process.

To preserve the integrity of the investigation, HPD will limit the release of certain information while the investigation remains ongoing.

If investigators identify an immediate threat to public safety, HPD will notify the community.
