On February 15, 2026, at about 9:05 p.m., District 8 patrol officers responded to a shooting fronting Taco Bell in Kapolei.
Two male visitors from the mainland had rented a gray 2022 Ford Explorer and were parked in the lot when an unknown male wearing all black and a black ski mask approached with a handgun and opened fire. Both victims were struck before the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The 40-year-old driver and the 42-year-old passenger were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’4”, wearing all black with a black ski mask. No arrest has been made.
