The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is set to welcome its largest recruit class since 2021. Recruit Class 218 consists of 36 new recruits, made up of 28 men and 8 women. Training began Monday, July 14, 2025, at HPD’s Ke Kula Māka‘i training academy in Waipahu.
Recently, HPD held a Family Orientation Night to warmly welcome the 218th Recruit Class and their families. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and fellowship while gaining insight into the recruits’ training process, which included firearm and conducted electric weapon handling and the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC).
