On May 21, 2026, the suspect involved in the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer case in Kalaeloa was charged, in conference with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
The suspect, 34-year-old Dane Lemes-Keller, was charged with Criminal Property Damage in the First Degree, Attempted Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle (UCPV) in the First Degree and Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree.
On May 19, 2026, at approximately 12:40pm, District 8 Crime Reduction Unit officers were attempting to locate a wanted suspect in the area of Kalaeloa when the suspect accelerated a vehicle toward officers, causing them to take evasive action to avoid being struck. During the incident, the suspect vehicle collided with two police vehicles before becoming disabled.
Lemes-Keller’s bail is set at $250,000.
