For 40 years, law enforcement agencies across Hawai‘i have come together to support Special Olympics Hawai‘i athletes through the First Hawaiian Bank Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Each year on O‘ahu, officers and supporters carry the Flame of Hope from Fort DeRussy through Waikīkī and into the Opening Ceremonies of the State Summer Games.
On June 6th, with athletes, families, and fans cheering them on, the Flame of Hope lit the cauldron and the Games officially began.
