Recently, officers with HPD’s District 8 Community Policing Team visited the keiki at Pohakea Elementary School! 🚔✨
In partnership with Weed and Seed Hawaiʻi, officers talked about what to do if someone you don’t know tries to talk to you. They discussed how to stay aware, use your strong voice, say “stranger danger,” get to a safe place, and tell a trusted adult right away. Officers also talked about bullying, encouraging students to be kind 💙, stand up for others 🤝, and always speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
Students also had the chance to see a patrol car up close 🚓 and learn about the different tools officers carry on their duty belts and how they help keep everyone safe. 👮♂️
Working together to educate, empower, and help keep our keiki and community safe. 🌺💙
