This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The Honolulu Police Department proudly recognizes our Emergency Response Operators and Police Communications Officers in the Communications Division, as well as the Radio Technicians and Radio Mechanics in the Telecommunications Systems Section. Their behind-the-scenes work—answering calls, dispatching officers, and maintaining police radios—is essential to every 911 response. Join us in honoring and thanking them.
In celebration of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a proclamation ceremony took place this afternoon at the Joint Traffic Management Center. A huge thank you to all our City and County of Honolulu telecommunications employees who work diligently to maintain our emergency communications network!
