HONOLULU – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is scheduled to undergo a site-based assessment as part of its international reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA). The international accreditation program requires law enforcement agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
As part of the assessment process, members of the public are invited to submit comments and feedback via the CALEA Public Access Portal:
Comments should address the HPD’s ability to comply with CALEA accreditation standards. A copy of the standards is available for review at the HPD’s Professional Standards Office at Alapa‘i headquarters, 801 South Beretania Street, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
