Earlier today, November 20, 2025, police responded to a brush fire in the area of Kunia Road and Fort Weaver Road in Waipahu. A witness reported seeing a male leaving the brush area moments before the fire started.
Officers quickly arrived, located the 30-year-old male, and he was taken into custody a short time later for Arson in the Second Degree. The fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to nearby agricultural property.
No other injuries were reported.
