On Dec. 7, 2025, at approximately 3 a.m., District 6 patrol officers responded to the Waikīkī White Sands Hotel after a 23-year-old front desk clerk reported that an unknown male approached the counter, pointed a firearm at her and demanded her property. The suspect fled on foot without taking anything, and no injuries were reported.

At 6 a.m., officers arrested a 26-year-old male suspect in the area of Ala Wai Boulevard and Kaiolu Street.
