On March 31, 2026, at Sunset Beach Park, District 2 patrol officers responded to a reported robbery.

The investigation determined that a 48-year-old male victim was at the park when he was approached by two male suspects near the restroom area. One suspect brandished a handgun while the other assaulted the victim and took his property before both fled.

Responding officers located one of the suspects, a 48-year-old male, nearby and recovered the victim’s property. The suspect was subsequently arrested for Robbery in the First Degree.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The second suspect remains unidentified.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
