On June 10, 2026, just before 3:30 p.m., District 5 patrol officers responded to a disturbance in the Liliha area involving a 32-year-old male who was in need of evaluation. The male was transported by EMS to an area hospital.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers learned of a related incident and responded to a residence on Nalanui Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 70-year-old male suffering from injuries. The victim was treated and transported to an area hospital.
Patrol officers determined the incidents were related and arrested the 32-year-old male for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.
Just before 8:30 p.m., the 70-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
As a result, the case has been reclassified as Murder, and the Honolulu Police Department’s Homicide Detail has assumed the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
