On December 12, 2025, just after 11:00 p.m., District 5 patrol officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Kalihi Valley Homes area. Several unoccupied parked vehicles were later found with bullet holes. No injuries were reported.
The HPD is actively investigating this incident and is also examining whether the reported drive-by shooting may be related to the recent Halawa Housing homicide. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.

- If you hear gunshots or see suspicious activity, move to a safe location and call 911.
- Avoid loitering in parking lots or open areas in and around Kalihi Valley Homes and Halawa Housing.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity.
- Do not intervene in disturbances. Call the police.
- Parents and guardians should closely monitor children’s activities.
