HONOLULU — Due to the recent fatalities and accidents involving e-bikes and e-motorcycles, along with community concern, the Honolulu Police Department’s (HPD) District 8 (ʻEwa to Mākaha) conducted an enforcement operation last night. This operation also reinforces the department’s Safer Roads, Together campaign.
Results from last night’s enforcement:
- 11 juveniles arrested for a total of 15 offenses
- 10 e-dirt bikes recovered
- 10 citations issued
All arrests made and citations issued went without incident.
As always, HPD would like to remind everyone that it’s our shared responsibility to keep the roads safe for everyone. Slow down, buckle up, wear a helmet, and walk safely. For more information on pedestrian and bicycle safety, including e-bikes, please visit this link.
