HONOLULU – On September 23, 2025, just before 5:00 a.m., District 6 patrol officers responded to a bus stop located at Kuhio Avenue and Paoakalani Avenue on a report of an unresponsive male lying on a mattress and bleeding from his head.
Upon arrival, officers located a 65-year-old male with apparent blunt force injuries to his head. A brick was found nearby and is believed to have been used in the assault. The male victim was treated and transported to an area hospital, where he remains .
During the course of this investigation, it was determined that the suspect struck the victim multiple times in the head with the brick and then stole the victim’s property. Based on these findings, this case has been reclassified to Attempted Murder and Robbery in the First Degree.
Today in Kane‘ohe, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the District 4 Community Policing Team (CPT), while investigating an unrelated criminal offense, identified the suspect as a 32-year-old male. He was arrested for Attempted Murder and Robbery. Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney. The investigation remains ongoing.
