Honolulu police arrested a 69-year-old male in connection with two bank robberies in the Makiki area.
At 2:53 p.m., the suspect entered a bank on South Beretania Street, demanded money from a teller and fled without cash.
About four minutes later, at 2:57 p.m., he entered a bank on Piikoi Street, demanded money from another teller and fled on foot with cash.
Officers found a male matching the suspect’s description nearby, and he was positively identified as the suspect in both robberies.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was later arrested for one count of Robbery in the Second Degree and one count of Robbery in the First Degree. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation.
